This arrangement is a 3-verse instrumental setting of the tune, “Es ist ein Ros’ entsprungen,” (Lo! How a Rose E’er Blooming), for 2 oboes, English horn,. string quintet (or string orchestra), and organ. After a short intro, the main tune makes its entrance in the oboes. The second verse is centered on the strings, and the final verse begins warmly, with a new tune in a new key, featuring the English horn, before modulating back to the original key and transitioning back to the original tune for the climax of the piece.

Versions for choir and strings with piano, and for soloist, choir, strings, and organ, are also available (contact the arranger). Other versions can also be produced on demand for an hourly arrangement fee.
